Satellite surveillance and the orbital unconscious

چکیده

Satellite data are frequently attached to discourses of infallibility, objectivity and omnipresence. Yet the value satellite in everyday society largely depends on strength our interpretations, interpretations which easily misled. images can be fabricated, misread restricted, yet companies like Google encourage users see themselves as active agents a collaborative process accumulating data, obscuring users’ true relations with technology giving them false sense power anonymity. In this sense, satellites constitute new unconscious terrain perception. For Geert Lovink, we have reached an age where ‘read metaphors, type technological mirror’ ‘an apparatus’. This article argues that lack conscious awareness around presence, nature infrastructure allows thrive under radar species surveillance technology.

Orbital Perturbation Effect on LEO Satellite Trajectory

A satellite, in its orbit, is affected by perturbing forces, such as atmospheric drag, solar radiation pressure, Earth oblateness, and gravity of the celestial masses (other than the Earth). In this paper, the effects of these forces on the trajectories of different types of LEO satellites and a sample satellite (Z-SAT) are discussed. A few analyses are done on these orbits and the relevant res...

Satellite Orbital Control

In this project we will be looking at the change in control required to transfer a satellite between two elliptic Keplerian orbits. We will first derive the equations of motion for our satellite and then study the controllability properties of our system. We will introduce a simple feedback controller and prove local asymptotic stability of the target orbit. The goal of this paper is to prove s...

Satellite gravitational orbital perturbations and the gravitomagnetic clock effect

In order to detect the gravitomagnetic clock effect by means of two counter-orbiting satellites placed on identical equatorial and circular orbits around the Earth with radius 7000 km their radial and azimuthal positions must be known with an accuracy of δr = 10−1 mm and δφ = 10−2 mas per revolution. In this work we investigate if the radial and azimuthal perturbations induced by the dynamical ...

Autonomous Satellite Servicing Using the Orbital Express Demonstration Manipulator System

The Orbital Express Demonstration System (OEDS) flight test, flown from March to July 2007, achieved all of its mission objectives, demonstrating a suite of capabilities required to autonomously service satellites on-orbit. Demonstrations were performed at varying levels of autonomy, from operations with pause points where approval from ground was required to continue, to fully autonomous opera...
